Illegal immigration is costing this country untold billions of dollars in public services (schools, medical, law enforcement, etc.) Some 13 million illegal immigrants, by some estimates.

My girlfriend says what we need are tamperproof cards that must be presented before one can get work, or can continue work. The idea being that the card is a guarantee of legal presence in the USA, or proof of citizenship. She says the illegals will not be able to obtain them and they will leave the USA on their own since they will be cut out of the work force. I like that idea. What do you think about it?

My own personal feeling is: Find 'em, round 'em up and ship 'em back to where they came from. They are not supposed to be here. The girlfriend says the logistics of that are impossible. Oh I dunno about that.

President Bush's approach is basically amnesty. The lesson seems to be: Break the law in sufficient numbers and you can get away with it. Oh please. Is that guy the president of the United States, or the president of Mexico? If I have to comply with the law, so do they. Get rid of 'em. President Bush is clueless. But after six largely incompetent years in office, that's pretty well known to all.

I definitely agree with you. I'm tired of driving through the city, not being able to talk to someone who speaks English at the drive-through! They're a waste of time, and if they don't got a green card, get the hell out of here. President Bush... He pisses me off, I can't wait until he's out of office. He's the dumbest president ever. I agree with your girlfriend with the card idea. But basically, like you said... Find 'em, round 'em up and ship 'em back to where they came from.

I got some advice, by the way. Don't watch George Lopez's comedy stand-up dvd with the America cover. I watched it last night and it pissed me off, he was talking about how Mexicans own America now and there's nothing we Americans can do now.
